When I was in my early twenties I had this half thought goal that I wanted to be in the best shape of my life by the time I was 25. I didn't have a plan, and I wasn't taking any particular action to get to this goal. It was more a thought, a daydream. By the time I was 25 and my daughter was born I found myself the heaviest I had ever been. I was out of shape. I remember when I would bend down to tie my shoe I would get a head rush because my blood pressure had become high. I was miserable. I knew I wanted to make a change and I had to really put some thought and action behind it. I found CrossFit and I started eating really clean along the lines of the paleo model. I worked hard and I had a long term plan. I knew that whatever I started I never wanted to look back on. I didn't want to give excuses. Every year around the holidays I like to look back at where I was. Sometimes I fall of track a little but I always manage to find the path that led me where I want to go again. The reason I'm sharing this is because I know that other people feel the same way around the new year. Most people aren't where they want to be and look to make changes. I'm here to remind you that you can do it and you can maintain it. Since moving to Cadillac I found a great space to continue the kind of training that I love. If you're looking to make some fitness changes don't be afraid to reach out.
